Nothing can stop the flow but you can enjoy the journey.
We escaped to happiness when we moved to live on the banks of the river Leri in the beautiful hamlet of Dol y Bont in rural Ceredigion. We have spent the last few years renovating our beloved stone and cob riverside cottages using traditional building methods and materials. We are keen up cyclers and re-purposers and have tried to design the interiors of the cottages to be sympathetic and in keeping with their heritage. The decor could be described as eclectic in places but full of interesting, quirky and occasionally surprising features.
We would love to welcome you to stay in the completely independent Bridgend Cottage; Bridgend is quite literally that - a cottage where the end of the very humpy hump back bridge forms the front wall of the house, should you decide to stay in Bridgend Cottage you will be staying directly on the riverbank and Afon Leri will become part of your daily life. Bridgend Cottage is a comfortable and homely two bedroomed cottage which was indeed our home until very recently.

Riverside Life
We love living by the side of Afon Leri, what a fabulous spot to relax and enjoy some good food and drink and some wonderful company. We love everything about the river, listening to it. splashing in it, Martin's even swum in it. The sound of running water is relaxing and catching the flash of blue as a kingfisher flashes by never loses its excitement. We have the fishing rites on our stretch of the river and you are welcome to try your luck at catching a trout, sewin or even a salmon.
Self Sufficiency
For me there is no better place to grow vegetables to cook and share, I can potter in the garden and listen to the river - heaven! Cooking & food are a massive passion in our home and we make lots of homemade goodies. I'm always cooking something and love to share and get people to sample my inventions.
Exploration
We are perfectly placed to explore so much of the natural beauty of Wales. There is easy access to miles of amazing walks from our front door. Aberystwyth, the Wales Coastal Path, The Cambrian Mountains and so much more is within easy reach. You can enjoy a new walk or drive everyday with different outlooks and scenery - there's just too much to choose from.
Sunset Heaven
At the end of a beautiful day Borth is blessed with some stunning sunsets and is rapidly becoming a photographers haven. It's a 5 minute drive to the beach from the cottage. You can enjoy a dip in the sea or just sit and watch the sun sink into the sea. Aberystwyth is just over 6 miles away so a trip to watch the starling murmuration followed by a crafty meal out is all too easy.
